Job Summary

Concord University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2018. The position requires a 12-hour per semester teaching load. We seek broadly trained sociologists with teaching and research interests in social justice and inequality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duty/Responsibility

The successful candidate will be expected to teach Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory and some combination of Race and Ethnicity, Wealth and Poverty, Gender, Sociology of Law and Popular Culture.

Education/Knowledge

Minimum Education Doctorate
Required Licenses/Certification

A PhD in sociology is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching, advising, university service and curriculum development. Experience teaching online courses is also desirable.

Dedication to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment and willingness to work collaboratively with students are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching, advising, university service and curriculum development. Experience teaching online courses is also desirable.
